New Publication: From Anti-Vaccination to Kremlin's Proxy
In Central-Eastern Europe, a so-called “grey zone” has emerged in the media, which tries to influence public opinion and pre-election political campaigns through hyper-partisan and sometimes even extremist – often anonymous or only seemingly “independent” – political communication, utilising conspiracy theories and ignoring the standards of ethical journalism. Our media research in the Czech Republic has, therefore, looked at the Czech political campaign communication between 1 September and 31 October 2021 to map and reveal the Czech “grey zone” media ecosystem, its role in the “dirty campaign,” and the war-related rhetoric later in 2022.

6th PSSI Space Security Conference The Global Space Competition: Security, Markets and Sanctions
On June 19—21, 2022, the Prague Security Studies Institute will convene in Prague its 6th PSSI Space Security Conference. This year’s gathering is entitled “The Global Space Competition: Security, Markets and Sanctions.” The central goal of the conference is to illuminate the connectivity among global space commerce, deterrence/security-related considerations, and proper space governance.

PSSI Now Accepting Applications for a Project Assistant for its Regional Security Program focused on Disinformation
The candidate should be well-versed in research, analysis and policy-making in disinformation, information warfare, and strategic communication. He/she should be able to work part-time (up to 20 hr./week) starting late June-beginning of July 2022 for a minimum of six months with the possibility of an extension. The position is located in Prague and is suitable for university students in M.A. and Ph.D. programs.
