Recommendations for the New EU Parliament and Commission to Strengthen the Implementation of Sanctions Against Russia

The European Union is facing a crucial moment in the enforcement of sanctions against Russia. While military and economic support for Ukraine remains crucial, sanctions are an effective tool to slow down and disrupt Russian military operations. Experts therefore come up with concrete recommendations for European institutions to increase the effectiveness and enforceability of anti-Russian sanctions.

Experts from the Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI), the Association for International Affairs (AMO) and the More Resilient Czech Republic initiative call on political leaders and relevant institutions to take measures to support more effective enforcement of sanctions against the Vladimir Putin regime. They presented a working version of their recommendations to the Czech government and EU representatives for the first time at a side panel of the GLOBSEC conference. Following the publication of the final version of the recommendations for the Czech Republic, they are now coming up with a final proposal for action for the European institutions.
