Over the last few years, the availability of space systems and related data, products and services has increased significantly. Developed countries have become largely dependent on space for both socio-economic development and defence and security needs. In this context, this perspective describes why it is necessary for the Czech government to support the Czech private space sector.

Czech private space companies are currently involved in major European space projects. The Czech Republic is seeking to move from the production of individual components to the production of complete systems.  For this shift to be successful, support from the state is crucial.
