Prague Security Studies Institute Vacancy Announcement: Communications Manager

The Prague Security Studies Institute is looking for a Communications Manager to implement and further enhance the Institute's communications strategy to ensure proper visibility and outreach of PSSI's programmatic activities.
It is initially a part-time position with an initial compensation of 25,000 CZK, starting in January 2024. The actual compensation will depend on qualifications, experience in the field, and time availability. The position is based in Prague and requires at least 3 days at the office, offering flexible working hours.
Work Description:
The Communications Manager will communicate the Institute's research results, analytical products, outreach initiatives, educational activities, events, and other undertakings.
Depending on seniority and experience, the role may also involve:

Developing the Institute through planning improvements.

Coordinating communications techniques.

Structuring an annual communications strategy proposal.

Managing the Institute's website to ensure consistent and effective branding.
Such a strategy will be developed and implemented under the supervision of PSSI's Managing Director and Director of Operations.
Responsibilities:

Promotion (online and offline) of PSSI, its brand, fellow expert colleagues, PSSIs, programs, projects, and events.

Communications in various media (audio, video, text) and through multiple channels (website, social media, email, events, etc.) in coordination with the managing director and director of operations and/or relevant program managers.

Continuous improvement of the overall communications outreach for our programs.

Development of associated communications components targeting relevant audiences and stakeholders (i.e., the public, students, expert community, government and corporate stakeholders, media/journalists).

Being the focal point for developing and coordinating PSSI's communications tasking internally (with members of the PSSI team), as well as subcontractors (e.g., graphic designers, video production/editors, web designers/programmers, etc.)
Requirements:

Graduate student in communications, marketing, or social sciences OR a professional with relevant experience

Excellent written and oral English and Czech skills are a prerequisite.

Knowledge of digital communications and tools:

Facebook (including Ads Manager and Meta Business Suite), LinkedIn, X, Instagram

MailChimp

Canva
-

Evaluating social media campaigns

Understanding copyrights for multiple platforms

Active communications mindset, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the capacity to work as an integral part of the PSSI team.
