PSSI Now Accepting Applications for a Project Assistant for its Regional Security Program focused on Disinformation

PSSI is offering a Project Assistant position in its Regional Security Program. The candidate should be well versed in research, analysis and policy-making in disinformation, information warfare, strategic communication and regulation of digital platforms. He/she should be able to work part-time (up to 20 hr./week) starting in January 2021. The expected duration of the internship is six months with the possibility of extension. The position is located in Prague and is suitable for university students in M.A. and Ph.D. programs, as well as young professionals.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Project Assistant will participate in ongoing PSSI’s research focused on disinformation in the Czech information space and its impact on individual perception, public opinion, national security and political processes.

Specifically, the Project Assistant would be responsible for: supporting the work of PSSI Regional Security Program Manager; conducting research; writing and publishing reports; organizing events; participating in ongoing research and/or projects; related administration, reporting, financial oversight and assisting with fundraising.

Training and mentorship will be provided. Initial compensation after a 2 month training period will be 10,000 CZK/month. The Project Assistant would be working at PSSI Prague offices (in case of Covid-19-related pandemic restrictions by the government, the Assistant would work in a hybrid mode).

Requirements:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Time management, attention to detail and project management skills

  • Flexibility and openness to adapt to changing organizational and project needs

  • Communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts internally and with partners

  • Commitment to the organization’s values and mission success

  • Excellent writing skills in Czech and English

Interest in the topics of regulation of digital platforms and climate change related disinformation is a plus.
