PSSI to Hold a Public Debate on Cyber Warfare

Cyber Warfare in the 21st Century

Former secretary of defense Leon Panetta once described cyber warfare as “the most serious threat in the twenty-first century,” capable of destroying our entire infrastructure and crippling the nation. The lecturer from the US will discuss how the development and dissemination of cyber weapons have changed the nature of the modern geopolitical conflict.

The debate will take place on 20 September from 18:00 at Hollar (Smetanovo nábř. 6, 110 00, Praha 1, room H014).

Vice President of Cyber Security at Masergy Communications

David Venable, Vice President of Cyber Security at Masergy Communications, has over 15 years experience in information security, with expertise in cryptography, network and application security, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and compliance. David is a former intelligence collector with the National Security Agency, with extensive experience in Computer Network Exploitation, Information Operations, and Digital Network Intelligence. He also served as adjunct faculty at the National Cryptologic School.

The event is organized in cooperation with the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NCISA) and supported by the U.S. Embassy PragueKPMG Česká republikaBritish Embassy Prague and ČSOB.
