'Harsh Expectations Versus a Modest Reality' - the final publication of the project "Economic Relations Between the Visegrad Countries and Russia: Before and After Ukraine" is now available.

The Russian annexation of Crimea and its involvement in the war in Eastern Ukraine represented a major shift in relations with Russia for the Visegrad countries. The tensions between Russia and the West had a significant impact on mutual economic ties and cooperation between Russia and the V4 states.

This publication seeks to analyze the current situation and to shed light on the development of economic relations between the individual Visegrad countries and Russia prior to the conflict in Ukraine and to highlight changes and continuities following the imposition of the sanctions regime.

The publication is a collaboration between Prague Security Studies Institute, Slovak Foreign Policy Association, Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding and Centre for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Democracy.

The project was supported by the International Visegrad Fund.
