On February 27, PSSI and Slovak Foreign Policy Association organized a roundtable on Russian influence in Central Europe. The event was a joint session for two projects – “The Development of Economic Relations Between V4 and Russia: Before and after Ukraine” and “Raising Awareness of Russian Soft Power in Central Europe“.
The roundtable gathered researchers from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary who presented their findings to local policy-makers, journalist and other guests. This event presented an excellent opportunity for exchange of views and opinions concerning Russian activities in V4 states. Among discussed subjects were the impact of sanctions on V4 economies and its efficiency for pursuing political goals, narratives of propaganda outlets and contra-measures that should be applied.
This roundtable will be followed by other sessions which are planned to be held in Budapest, Warsaw and Prague.
Projects are organized by PSSI, SPFA, Centre for International Relations, The Centre for Polish-Russian dialog and Understanding and Centre for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Democracy and funded by International Visegrad Fund and National Endowment for Democracy.
