Call for Applications: RMSSP 2019/2020


Are you interested in international and domestic security affairs? Would you like to become a well-equipped professional capable of understanding the complex national security problems and foreign policy issues of the 21st century? Apply to the Robinson-Martin Security Scholars Program (RMSSP) 2019/2020.

PSSI takes pride in the quality of the distinguished speakers it has been able to attract over the years in order to cover subject areas that are of great concern to the security community.

The program is currently comprised of a series of lectures and interactive seminars led by distinguished senior current and former security policy professionals from the Czech Republic and a number of other countries, including the U.S. The content and sequencing of over twenty lectures provides a unique opportunity to engage in serious discourse over breaking global developments with renowned policy luminaries in small group settings (approximately 10-15 students).

It offers highly qualified and motivated students from Czech universities the opportunity to take part in a program covering numerous security-related issues. Whether it is traditional intelligence and the role of NATO/EU in today's new security environment, tackling organized crime, the perils of humanitarian work, the trajectory of cyber security, or emerging issues such as the intricacies of economic statecraft and information warfare, the RMSSP lectures encourage its students to develop their own areas of specialization.

Successful students are also required to write a policy memo on one of the topics covered and contribute to numerous PSSI’s activities, including conferences and roundtables. Upon completion, they are presented with a special certificate.

Fee per one semester amounts to 1 000 CZK


Please send your structured CV and short motivation letter (max. 1 page, in English) to by September 9 (with a subject line "RMSSP 2018/2019).

In the motivation letter, you should describe what security-related topic should be presented during the RMSSP lecture, why and add 3 discussion points.

Selected candidates will be invited to interview.

The first semester of RMSSP starts on October 1, 2019 and the lectures are usually held on Tuesday from 18:00. As most of the lectures are given in Czech, the proficient knowledge of Czech is necessary.
